Lead Data Scientist

To support its projects, an international company is seeking a Lead Data Scientist.

You wish to:

• Act as the main technical point of contact for all AI models developed by the data scientists in the team, ensuring mastery of methodologies and being the go-to for technical questions from various stakeholders.
• Ensure the quality of AI models developed within the DataLab in terms of performance and alignment with business needs: adhere to delivery timelines, model performance (accuracy, scalability), compliance with development frameworks, and risk management related to models.

Your future missions:

• Technically support the data scientists in the team in their daily tasks and help them improve their skills through code reviews, methodological guidance, and the selection of innovative models, model optimization and evaluation, internal training sessions, and mentoring of interns and apprentices.
• Maintain technological and R&D watch to ensure that the AI techniques and knowledge developed in the DataLab remain state-of-the-art.
• Play a key role as a deputy to the DataLab manager and collaborate with management on tasks such as understanding business needs, ROI analysis of deployed solutions, reporting to business units, defining the AI roadmap, maintaining the AI framework, and team structuring and recruitment.

The ideal Lead Data Scientist:

• Holds a degree from a top engineering school or university (Master’s level) with at least 6 years of professional experience.
• Previous experience as a technical lead or in mentoring junior data scientists.
• Experience in the complete lifecycle of AI models (prototyping to deployment in information systems).
• Mastery of traditional data analysis concepts and classical machine learning algorithms (classification and regression, clustering, overfitting, performance metrics, validation).
• Strong knowledge of advanced Deep Learning techniques applied to NLP, Computer Vision, and Generative AI, with successful deployment of multiple AI models.
• Python / Git / Mlflow.
